Friends...

Just sitting here thinking, so I thought I'd share my thoughts on friends. I've heard lots of people say "You can't have real friends on the Internet, you don't really know who these people are." I totally disagree. As you all know, I had my birthday a few days ago. I still can't get over the greetings I received. People went out of their way to wish me. They even went so far as to send me e-cards. And when I couldn't retrieve them from the website, they went to another to send me one. (Yeah, you know who you are ;) )
I got text messages, even people who don't talk to me in chat wished me. And even though I haven't received them yet, I know a couple of people have sent me cards through snail mail.
It just goes to show that people DO care about others, even if it is the Internet. And, it also goes to show who your true friends are. Friends are the ones, who, no matter what, put whatever their doing aside to be there for you. They don't question, they don't bitch and moan when you bring your problems to them. And they know they can rely on you to do the same. So, to all my real true friends, thank you for being you!

I totally agree with Luna on this. I hear people all the time say you can't find any "real" friends on the internet. I have a few that I consider my real friends on here. We know that most people who come online aren't honest about who they are, but the ones whom are honest are the ones that all of us can single out. Those select open and honest ones are the ones I reach out to. Those are the ones who have my respect and love. Those are the ones, I know will be there for me when I am down and not kick me, and those are the ones, I will be there for when they are down. Through good times and bad times, I am thankful for those select few and I hope we will always find a way to talk and remain friends.

you can't have real friends on the net cause they are net friends :P you don't see or touch them so there ha in your face, ok seriousally how the hell you going to have real friends on there well then again This is the kind of Friends I tend to get in real life cause I move away to a different town and lose track of them just like on the net one or both will end up not being online and we lose track of them lol unless you spend your ever last breath typing online :| that would be gay lol If I died today will anyone online that I know, know that I died nope they won't, and even if someone did find out and told others online that I did Die would they Believe it or care nope, It will be another oh that person is just faking his/her death just to get a reaction, you see all the things that will come up, oh your true friends will send you e cards or whatever right sure, in the real truth the real life not even friends you know in real life are what you would believe a true friend would be, unless you make a big impact on there life would they miss you if you are gone, maybe a week or two or hell if you known them long enough maybe a month or two or even better maybe once a month every year, once your gone your gone, but be happy while your here on earth fill your hearts with joy fill them with thoughts that people care about you, I'm sure there are people that do, while your around and if your lucky you may have run into those few that would miss you no matter how long it's been since they last typed/spoke to you

now that my friends is the Sad Sad Truth here is to the hope you found the right people that will care to the last bitter end

I tend to disagree with you, Danny. You are gonna say that you don't know Crystal? What about before the two of you met offline? You didn't consider her a friend? You didn't love her?

if your lucky you'll find the ones that will be true friends the sad truth is that hardly ever really happens

I'm not disagreeing with you on that, Danny. The part I am disagreeing on is the fact that there are a very select few on here that you can consider your real friend. They are hard to find, but they are out there. And that is the same way offline. If it wasn't for online, I wouldn't of ever been able to meet Dameon. And now he is (hopefully) coming down here in April and we will get to meet offline. That is what I am talking about.

I trust very few people online which is why I keep to myself a lot. But there are a couple of people on here that I do trust. Those are the friends I am talking about.

I do agree with you. You just have a way of explaining things in a more negative way than I do. :|

My experience? Very very VERY few people are true to their words on the net. There are those who you can class as 'friends' and who are honest about things.

We dont know a lot about people we've met online. I know I have things that have happened in my life that you all dont know about and that's not because I dont trust my friends. It's just that some things are best left unsaid. make sense? I'm not in any way saying that because of this fact, that you shouldnt trust the people who are your friends and that you shouldnt class people as friends on the net. I've learned in the past that you cant throw that 'friend' word too losely around on the net. People you called friends then turn around and type shit about you to others. Make stupid fucking crap up and it's these types of people that I think ruin friendship for others.

I dont care what anyone says..I class a very select few, as my friends and yes..on the net is where I class them, and as Luna has said..these people know who they are.
