Reason to watch 2

I missed this last week because of my gran being rushed into hospital but now here I am, carrying on from the last reason to watch post, which was about Eddie Cibrian!

This week, it's the main reason to watch the movie Snatch. Brad Pitt plays an Irish Gypsy who's a champ at bare knuckle fighting. With scenes of him covered in dirt while wearing only a pair of undies and a vest, looking all evil and stuff, and blood, it's a must see! Plus the fact that his Irish accent is bloody hot! Oh yeah..and the movie is good too.

a couple of jokes

These are just a few jokes sent by text message to me..

A butcher was talking to a friend. The friend says "what happened to you assistant?" The butcher says "he was sticking his penis in the bacon slicer. so I sacked him" The friend says "what happened to the bacon slicer?" The butcher says "I sacked her as well!"

What do you get if you cross a rooster with an owl? = A cock that actually stays up all night.

A man comes back from the amazon with a cock sucking frog and shows it to his wife. she asks "what should I do with that?" and he says "teach it to cook then fuck off!"

boys and their toys

I'll set the scene...Busy ASDA supermarket. 2 old school friends, who are bf and gf, myself and a conversation about the bf's now smashed car..

BF (Dean): I've only had the fucking car for 3 weeks and you've fucked it up. How can you be so fucking stupid?!
GF (Laura): It wasnt my fault. You've seen the report yourself. HE came out and hit ME. Not the other way around. It's only a fucking car. Your insurance will cover it!
Dean: My insurance?! I don't want to lose my no claims bonus, you daft cow. You can pay me the money to fix it out of your pocket...
Me: *checking to see if anyone is watching this now loud argument*
Dean: What? WHAT? FIX IT MYSELF?!
Laura: Isnt it your job anyway? You fix cars..fix your own
Dean: Did I just fucking hear you right?
Laura:...and Jen had to claim on her no claims bonus. She lost..what was it Jen?
Me: 9 years bou...
Laura: 9 YEARS! Have you seen her get all fucking pissed about it? plus, you've done no work on it yet. It's not as if it's perfect and runs well. It's a bucket of shit
Dean: IT IS NOT A BUCKET OF FUCKING SHIT
Laura: Babe, look. There's no need for this
Me: Guys, I'm going to get cat food. I'll be back...
Dean: See what you've done? She's leaving us because you're pathetic and arguing about it in here
Laura: I didnt start this!
They then follow me to the isle...
Laura: Look, babe. I'm sorry. I didnt mean to cause you problems. I love...
Dean: DONT YOU DARE SAY YOU LOVE ME! Get the fuck away from me. fuck it. I'm leaving. Should have fucking known not to let you drive my car. Stupid bitch!

and then he leaves! She's texted me to say that he wont talk to her and all because someone hit his car while she was driving. There's not even much damage. Most he's gonna have to fix is a rear bumper, some lights and replace his number plate. I could understand if he had paid a ton of money to fix it up but he's not even started doing that yet. Boys and their fucking cars!

new desktop

OK. After a comment from Mr. Doodmycarsucks, and after me telling him to find me a better desktop pic if he didnt like the napster one..He found me this polar bear one (which won him credits back)

connection to cyber space

I've hopefully fixed my connection problems. The past while I've had problems connecting and when I do get on, I'm sometimes disconnected while trying to load a website. The error message I get is about my remote computer not connecting (I'm on sucky dial-up at the moment). I've managed to live with it but it all got too much lastnight and then today.

Spent about an hour trying to connect today. Got so pissed off that I jumped in the car and headed down to B&Q to buy a new connection lead for the phone socket. Seems to be working so far. Connected first time. I have 2 hours to wait and see if it's all cool (dial-up disconnects me every 2 hours) but so far, so good! Now I can think about the changes I want to make on the blog.

My DVD Review - The Rose

Directed by Mark Rydell
Starring Bette Midler, Alan Bates, Harry Dean Stanton, Frederic Forrest and Barry Primus.
Release Date 1979

In an Oscar nominated performance, BETTE MIDLER portrays a rock star whose success is laced with so much booze, drugs and hard-living, that it eventually causes her downfall. Trapped in a self created hell, Rose begs her manager (ALAN BATES) for time off from her concert tour. When he refuses, she seeks comfort and love in the arms of a handsome drifter (FREDERIC FORREST), but even he cannot handle her life of excess. Electrifying musical numbers, including the hit song "The Rose" make this film a pop culture classic.
Bette Midler's fictional role bears striking similarities to Janis Joplin, who many say was the film's inspiration. Like Joplin, Midler's character performs while drinking Southern Comfort, she is called "Rose" as Joplin was called "Pearl" and she returns home to flaunt her success, just as Joplin showed up at her high school reunion.

I first saw this movie in the early 80's. On TV of course, and in those days movies like this were cut to shreds. When it first came out on VHS, I bought it. Wore my copy out. I have to say this is one of my all time favourite movies. Ms Midler's voice..all I can say is...AMAZING! She brought pure emotion to the movie. No matter how many times I see it, I still cry at the end. Alan Bates, as Rose's promoter/manager, plays a control freak, and truly, all you wanna do is slap him. It leaves you wondering whether Rose's excessive lifestyle, or her manager's constant harassment of her, gets to her in the end. You can see her knowing her limits, yet he continually wants to make money out of her. You empathise with her character, all she wants is love and happiness. But her eagerness to please her public and her manager makes her question her own happiness in the end. All in all, even though it is an old movie now, it's still a great movie. I don't think it will ever date. If you get a chance to watch it, enjoy it as much as I do.

Dominion Movie Review

Dominion *Prequel to* The Exorcist (2005)

Release Date: May 20th, 2005 (Limited)
Directed by: Paul Schrader

"A Supernatural evil comes to a post-World War II archaeological dig in British East Africa. Or is the escalating toll of death and dread the inevitable result of human nature?"

that's just part of the description upon the DVD I hold in my hand as I got done watching this movie, This movie is based before the Origional Exorcist movie, It was only put in a limited selection of Movie theaters cause The creater of the movie himself Didn't make this one to be as exciting as his other ones and He made it for only purpose to fill in Father Merrin's Past between His time in World War II and the first Exorcist movie The creater only expected the die hard Exorcist fans to watch this movie, and I am one of them, to say this movie is boring I can't say that cause It gives in great detail of how he had to refind his faith to combat a foe who's cunning, unrelenting and immortal. this is a movie that any fan of the exorcist don't want to miss

my rating is 7/10

Burns Night

Here in Scotland on the 25th of January, we honour Scotland's national bard, Robert Burns (or Rabbie Burns). Robert Burns is Scotland's best-loved bard and Burns Suppers have been held in his honour for over 200 years. On this night, most Scots hold suppers where they eat haggis (which is sheeps stomach, blood and a mixtures of other things, along with spices), neeps and tatties (mashed turnip and mashed potato) and they drink whiskey! Before eating the haggis, one of Robert Burns' poems is read, Address to a Haggis.

Robert Burns wrote a lot of nice poems, which even I like (I'm not a big poem fan since I stopped writing them myself) and you can read them here. In some parts of Scotland, people hold haggis hurling. Haggis Hurling dates back to early Scottish Clan Gatherings, where the women folk would toss a haggis across a stream to their husbands, who would catch the haggis in their kilts. I'm not going to bore you with a huge post about it. I've added links for his poems, about his life and about the haggis hurling. You can take your own time to read them, if you wish.

the missing me

For those who might start to wonder where I am, I'll let you know..

My gran was taken into hospital on saturday night after suffering a mini stroke. She was having problems talking so I called the doctor. We wont know for sure if there is any long term damage till she's had a brain scan. That could happen tomorrow (monday) or tuesday. I'll keep you informed about what's going on. Just wanted to let you guys know, so that you dont start to worry (or get excited) about me being gone.

something else that annoys me

This is one of two posts I wanna make.

I'll keep this simple....I wish people, more so American people (sorry), would stop classing the UK as only London! THERE ARE MORE PARTS TO THE UK THAN JUST LONDON! Most people know this but there are the select few who just havent got a fucking clue about the rest of the world. There are different countries outside your own!

outrage!

Throughout the world, there are different versions of Big Brother. Here in the UK, we have a Celebrity Big Brother at the start of every year and there is a week left for the celebs in the house. Amoungst the housemates are Traci Bingham, Dennis Rodman and Dead or Alive singer Pete Burns (think of "you spin me right round, baby, right round. like a record, baby. right round, round, round" and you'll have Pete Burns)....

I'm doing a focus on Pete Burns. He caused outrage in the house when he told them all that his coat was actually made from Gorilla fur. His coat has now been seized by the police and taken away for testing, and if it was found to be gorilla fur, he could face 5 years prison sentence and a £5000 fine. You can read the story here.

I've not read the papers today but I did a search to see if something had been found out about the coat. One website says that it was found NOT to be gorilla fur but it in fact originates from black and white colobus monkeys. Colobus monkeys are not on the endangered list as gorillas are BUT he can still face charges for illegal importation of that type of fur. You can also read that story here.

what, who and huh?

I had a post all typed out but upon re-reading it, I realised that it read like shit. I've been having that problem lately. Can't seem to word posts how I want to, they don't make sense or they're just not interesting enough. Even typing this out and making it half way decent, is annoying me.

Only interesting thing to post about, and this is pushing the boat out, is that today, one of our chickens was blown over by the wind...again. Happened last week too and it was the same chicken. Aint you so glad that you're reading this pile of horse shit? I need to get drunk or something. At least I would have something interesting to tell you all. I suck!

Self Harm

I've been asked to write a post about a very serious topic that someone very very close to me has been effected by. I wont say in this post who it is. If anyone would like to know, then you can ask me personally.

"Most of my life, I have been a very level headed person, took everything that was thrown at me with a pinch of salt and been very outgoing with other people. Something happened to me a few years ago, that threw that all up in the air and made me question who is was and why I was here. Suddenly, my attitude changed and it seemed others attitudes towards me changed too. I was hurting inside so much and no one close to me seemed to understand. I cant recall the first time I took a blade to my arm and cut myself, but after that day, I would cut myself every week or two but then it became every few days and then every day. I started to realise that some of my friends were just using me for money and because I had a car and for some reason, I couldnt say anything about it. So because of this, I would cut myself. My mum would leave me for weeks to bugger off somewhere with her boyfriend. I really needed her but she didnt seem to care, which made me cut myself. Taking a blade to my arm didnt make everything better in the long run but it made ME feel better about things. It was a release for me. The pain and blood was my release from the bad shit."

"Not one person knew what I was doing. For a whole year I would wear jumpers/sweaters to cover my arms, I wouldnt let people touch me, I sometimes wouldnt even go outside. I would end up with really deep cuts but I wouldnt ask for help. I would patch them up as best I could and then act as if I were normal. The day people found out, was the day I was kicked out by my mum. I went to stay with some good friends and forgot to cover my arm up when I went to the kitchen. They begged me to seek help and I said I would but I didnt. I carried on self harming. I finally realised that it wasnt helping me. That I needed real help. So I went to the doctor. Since then, I've never looked back. I havent self harmed in over 3 years but let me tell you...it's hard as hell not to go down that road again. I've learned that if things get really hard for me, if I feel that I really need to cut my arm..that I should find something else to take my mind off it. A good way is to either put on a comedy dvd or switch the PS2 on. Sometimes even reading a book can help wonders."

"Anyone reading this that self harms or knows someone who does, tell them to get help but remember..They have to want the help. You cant force someone to clean themselves up. You need to be there to support them as much as you can! I've had people tell me that what I did was 'pathetic' and 'stupid'. That's not anyone wants to hear, let alone someone who self harms. Those words made me worse. I'm including some links for sites that can help people. If you self harm, please read them. You'll realise that you're not alone. There are millions for people like you out there. I was one. I still am, in a way. Learn about it and understand it. It just might help you."

Fake People

We always see fake ass people online and, I don't know about you people, but I try to not have any contact with them. I have had to deal with a fake person offline, that I have to see on practically an every day basis. She drives me fucking nuts and the past two weeks it is all I can do to control my temper and not go off on her. I work with the girl and she is constantly leaving work early with the excuse that she is sick. She says she has cancer but has no proof to back that up and if you ask her what kind of cancer she has, she tells you that she isn't sure. She uses the sickness excuse when ever things don't go her way. She started this as soon as she got back with the guy she was seeing when I first started working there. She goes out partying 5 nights a week yet she is dying and does all the partying and fucking around at work because she is trying to enjoy what little time she has left on this earth. What a fucking crock of shit. Anyway, my point is, there are fake people around us online and offline. I think it is easier to deal with the fake ones online because you can just ignore them. Offline, like in my case, I have to work with people like that and my temper is about to boil over.

boom boom boom

WHY DO YOU PEOPLE INSIST ON HAVING MUSIC ON YOUR WEBPAGES? IF I WANTED TO LISTEN TO SOME STUPID ASS SONG, I WOULD TURN MY TV OFF AND LISTEN TO THE GUY UPSTAIRS AND HIS BOOMING MUSIC!

Might be a good idea to add at the top of your webpage..

"Upon this page loading, there shall be a burst of some gay ass song that will make you cringe and make your neighbours wonder about your taste in music"
I know it can be turned off by clicking on a button or whatever but why the hell should I have to turn it off? It shouldnt be there in the first place!! Goddamnit, people.

Cyclone Clare hits WA coast

See story here and here
As usual though, the news reports get some things wrong. Dampier is only 12 kilometres from Karratha, so basically, if Dampier got the full force, so did Karratha. But still, for a category 3 cyclone (the worst is category 5), it did quite a lot of damage.
My sister lives in Karratha, luckily they were here in Perth when the cyclone hit. North west towns are prepared for cyclones, but this one has been the first to hit Karratha in 18 years. People were evacuated, because of the threat of tidal surges. The devastation is quite unbelievable. Flash flooding, trees uprooted, houses have lost roofs, boats being smashed against beaches etc. The north west region is quite arid. Very hot temperatures normally, so to see the area flooded is quite unnatural. Roads were closed, bridges totally destroyed.
My sister and her family were lucky to get home tonight. They drove all the way from Perth today, probably an 18 hour drive non stop. The roads had just been opened, but still quite unstable for normal cars. Lucky they have a 4WD. I just received a phone call from her, she's said the town is still totally blacked out, no power anywhere, but satellite phone calls can be made. She's totally lost her garden, her 15 foot high palm trees are no longer there, nor are her banana trees. There's a gum tree in her swimming pool, her back and side fences are totally gone, nowhere to be seen. She can't see the damage done to the house yet, as its just before midnight and there's no power.
It'll be a huge cleanup task for the towns, but thankfully the communities rally around to help each other in times like these. The awful thing is, the Weather Bureau are predicting another rain-bearing depression off the North West coast, that could develop into another cyclone. And the usual pattern is, the cyclones intensify as the season progresses. So this next one could be worse. I'm just hoping and praying it won't be.

Reasons to watch...

Ok. I'm sitting here really bored, annoyed about something and I dont know what I'm annoyed about, and getting even more pissed off at my internet connection, and it's only 11:40pm!

So, I've decided to start a weekly post by myself, all about hunky men in TV programs/Movies and how they are the main reasons to watch said shows/movies. I'm starting off with Eddie Cibrian who plays Russell Varon in Invasion. This show just started last weekend in the UK and can I just say...Eddie Naked...OMG!!! He's hella sexy! He's one main reason to tune into Invasion every week. I hope there are more scenes where he's stripped off to his boxers!

Chatter Lawsuit

It baffles me as to what types of lawsuits that are being handed out these days. I thought nothing more could shock me but I was wrong. Today, I found an article about a lawsuit to do with the internet. Someone is suing AOL for allegedly failing to do anything about the abuse he endured in a CHATROOM. Finding it hard to believe as I did? Then read for yourself here!

It's the first of it's kind and I'll be really shocked if anything comes of it. As a Services Administrator (IRCop) on an irc server (oasis.stormirc.net) and a channel op in one of the servers biggest channels, I have to say....LMAO! You gotta be kidding me? Why sit there and read the bullshit someone is typing to you. There is a button at the top right hand corner with an X on it. Why not just click the button and leave the chat? Might be harsh but he's the only one to blame for his 'emotional distress' that accured because of the teasing. Clinking the X does a world of good! and Daniel, if you are reading this...don't bother claiming this in chat the next time I kick you. Get ideas of your own lol

Changes

Over the next two weeks, I'm going to be making a lot of changes on the blog. Looking into the possible change of template and giving this place a theme of it's own. That probably wont happen if I get really annoyed about it all. I've added link buttons so people can link us on the blog/webpage. If you know anyone who can link us, let them know about the buttons and we'll link them back. If you guys want any type of design for the buttons, let me know and I'll see what I can do for you!

For anyone reading this...if anyone knows of some good sites with free templates for blogger or know of any sites with little extras that I can use here, can you leave me a comment with links or info? I would be so greatful! As a thank you, I'll even link your blogs/webpages.

Friends...

Just sitting here thinking, so I thought I'd share my thoughts on friends. I've heard lots of people say "You can't have real friends on the Internet, you don't really know who these people are." I totally disagree. As you all know, I had my birthday a few days ago. I still can't get over the greetings I received. People went out of their way to wish me. They even went so far as to send me e-cards. And when I couldn't retrieve them from the website, they went to another to send me one. (Yeah, you know who you are ;) )
I got text messages, even people who don't talk to me in chat wished me. And even though I haven't received them yet, I know a couple of people have sent me cards through snail mail.
It just goes to show that people DO care about others, even if it is the Internet. And, it also goes to show who your true friends are. Friends are the ones, who, no matter what, put whatever their doing aside to be there for you. They don't question, they don't bitch and moan when you bring your problems to them. And they know they can rely on you to do the same. So, to all my real true friends, thank you for being you!

A Happy Birthday

I would like to take this time to add a special happy birthday message to the blog.

It's a bit late but I'd like to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUNA!!!!!!!!! I hope 2006 is a good one for you. 2005 has been tough and things can only get better from now on. Thank you for being a good friend. Someone I know I can talk to and who is special to many in so many ways. We've had our rough times (when I first joined chat) but I'm glad that we are now friends. Love you, sweetie! I'm always here for you. Don't forget that =) Thank you for being a good friend to me!
