Surfing and you find....

As most people know that when I get bored, I go surfing to see what cool stuff I can find. While trying to fend off Pyper from attacking her biscuit box (which is sitting beside the computer), I came across some cool blogs. Well, one I found a couple of weeks ago and only took a closer look yesterday. The Jammy Blog is one I found first and lastnight, me and rach read almost all of it. While doing this, I came across Dog Eat Doug. I've linked them both at the side so you folks can have a good look and I highly suggest you do take a closer look. You'll be missing out on greatness if you dont!

Bang Away

My dear dear Rachi babi....Praise all that is living, she gave me a cool girl power game. Males are to be warned that playing said game might make them cringe!

Girl Power

Flowers

I was talking to Jonathan today about how I like things different. Like I'm not into normal romantic gestures. Everything has to be different and unoriginal...so I got talking about blue roses and how much I would love to recieve blue roses from a guy I'm really into. I mean...How can any girl, in her right mind, pass up these?

So I went looking for pictures and just about anything about blue roses. You don't get them like this. They have to be dyed blue but while searching, I came across an article about blue roses and how the Australian based Florigene and the Japanese Suntory company are trying to create the world's first blue rose. It's interesting to read. So here you go. You can read for yourself. Blue Rose

Lonach Gathering 2005

After being away in hospital for a few days to help with my breathing, my mum picked me up and took me out to her house for the weekend. Little did I know that the Lonach Gathering was on this weekend and dispite me being all shitty, she took me anyway. I'm glad she did!!

For those who dont know about it, I'll tell you..Every year on the 4th Saturday in August, the Lonach Gathering is held in Aberdeenshire. The Lonach Games and Gathering have been held for 160 years in the rural community of Strathdon, 45 miles west of Aberdeen. This is a friendly and warm gathering of the clansmen and friends, whose enthusiasm and unparalleled genius make the games an outstanding success. It is a truly unique event - nowhere else will you see the march of the Clansmen. The Men of Lonach, in full highland dress, armed with pikes and Lochaber battleaxes, march around the arena. The Clansmen march for 6 miles, first thing in the morning of the games, stopping off at patron houses along the way for a dram of whiskey, then the march is finished in the arena, watched by hundreds. Billy Connelly, who is patron of the games, attends every year and brings some famous friends with him. This year Steve Buscemi, Eric Idle, Eddie Izzard, Brian Cox, Aidan Quinn and Anna Friel were amongst those who attended. Most wearing kilts! It's an amazing event and I'm glad my mum made me brave going this year.

I didnt want to stand about, so I decided to take a walk. I ended up meeting and having a cup of tea with Steve Buscemi!! (well, I had the tea)..Some really rude Australian guy kept pushing me while I was trying to take pictures of Billy Connelly and co. I got so pissed off that I ended up turning around and saying "fucking dae that again and I'll shove my camera up yer arse" this made Eric Idle laugh and then pose for a picture for me. Then the guy pushed me again and I ended up banging into Steve Buscemi. The security guy managed to pick me up and they ended up taking me into the ground where only "offical people" go. Then I couldnt catch my breath and I was asked if I would like to sit down inside the building...no one like me gets in the house beside the ground. Not on the day of the Lonach anyway. This is why I'm glad my mum took me there. I was paying for it at the end of the day because I ached all over. Although being there did remind me how I actually wished I wasnt in Scotland. The whole reason for me being able to go there was because my other trip had to be put on hold and it did get me down alot on the day but saying that....it made me proud to be Scottish and that I wouldnt change for the world!

Funny email

Don't know if you've all seen this, but I thought it was worth a laugh.

How to get even

One hot December day we found an old straggly cat at our door.
She was a sorry sight. Starving, dirty, smelled terrible, skinny and hair all
matted down. We felt sorry for her, put her in a carrier and took her to the vet.
We didn't know what to call her, so we named her "Pussycat."
The vet decided to keep her for a day or so. He said he would let us
know when we could come and get her. My husband (the complainer) said,
"OK, but don't forget to wash her, she stinks." He reminded the vet
that it was his WIFE that wanted the dirty cat, not him.My husband and
my Vet don't see eye to eye. He calls my husband "El-Cheap-O," my
husband calls him "El-Take-O."
They love to hate eachother and constantly "snipe" at each other, with
my husband getting in the last word on this occasion. The next day my
husband had an appointment with his doctor, who is located next door
to the vet.
The doctor's office was full of people waiting to see him. A side door
opened and in leaned the vet - he had obviously seen my husband
arrive. He looked straight at my husband and in a loud voice said,
"Your wife's pussy is finally clean and shaved and she now smells like
a rose. Oh, and, by the way, I think she's pregnant. God knows who the
father is!"
And he closed the door.
Now THAT, my friends, is getting even...

Eventful day in the life of Me!

Well, it was an evening. The past two days, I've had a killer cough (as rob can tell you. he's now deaf because of me) but the second day (today) was worse! I was sort of ok driving out to my mum's. Usual bullshit...runny nose and sneezing (from hayfever) but while eating dinner with my mum, I had a coughing fit, which normally would be funny to my mum (she seems to like laughing at my little misfortunes right now) but I near enough turned purple. I managed to calm that down but all the way home, I could feel pain in my throat...
So I get home, turn the computer on, get a drink and pick a dvd to watch. Then awhile later, I start to cough again and this time, I cant stop for ages. When I finally do, I cant breath right at all. So I called the NHS 24 helpine we have here in the UK. Spoke to really nice nurse who told me to get up to G Docs, which is an out of hours GP. to cut the journey up there short....
I get there and the doc takes one look at me and decides I need to be admitted into hospital. I pleaded with her not to so she decided to just check me out. I ended up on a breathing machine (cant spell the name) that they use for people with asthma. I was on that for about 5/10 minutes. She had me do about 5 breath tests, all of which made me have countless coughing fits. Then she told me I had to head to Accident and Emergancy to be put on another breathing machine for people with asthma...after all that, I'm told I have a very bad chest infection which I shouldnt have for someone of my age. I have to take 11 pills in total a day. Plus keep using my inhaler more often. She told me I'll cough up some really bad shit from my chest. So very attractive. This is going to last for about a week or two. I hate being fucking sick!

Reply to Michele's sideblog

I understand where you're coming from Michele. You can see that you've done wrong, and you can apologise for it. I praise you highly for that. A lot of people can't see what they've done wrong, and how much they've hurt people. A few days ago, my sister came here to pay back some money she owed my father. She didn't have the full amount to pay him back, and she knew if I found out, I would have had a go at her. She proceeded to pay back Dad behind my back, then walked into my bedroom where I was, and told me that she was not a taxi service, that the driving around she had done for me cost her fifty dollars in petrol (a lie to start with, it doesn't cost fifty dollars to drive to the local shopping centre twice) and that in turn she had no money for groceries. So, I asked her what her problem was. She then started in on me about my mother's funeral, saying that she had no say in anything that was done (another lie), then said that my mother was never her mother, that she was MY mother only. Of course, I saw red. I told her that she had no right saying that, that she never cared about my mother in all the time that she was sick, that she never even went to her own mothers funeral, nor has been to the cemetery in all this time. She then started in about how I get the house when Dad dies. Which is true, I receive the house in Dad's will, because I have looked after them for so long, both mum and dad said because I've had no opportunity to get a job, in turn getting my own house, that I should have it when they both die. BUT, being the person I am, I have chosen to give 25% of the house to my sisters. Of course, she doesnt like that. She thinks that if I'm living in the house, rent free, why should she pay for land rates? Anyway, that part of it is long and complicated, but that's the gist of it. So..she then told me I was no better than my Aunt, who when my grandmother died, tried her damn best to take her house without the other sisters and brothers knowing. So, as anyone who knows me knows, I would never do that to anyone. As all this abuse was happening, she was walking to her car. I had to turn away because if I didn't, I think I would have smashed her car window in. The point of my story? The one who is supposed to be supporting me the most, my big sister, the one who's always been the toughest, is nothing but a gutless bitch. Family....who needs em?

Hijackers KNOWN pre-9/11

someone tell me what's wrong with this picture? They knew about the hijackers but did nothing?!

The course of action was said to have been rejected in part because the men were in the US on valid entry visas.

His investigations lead him to Navi Araz who runs the terrorist cell which plans to launch a nuclear attack on the city. Bower is back...

This dvd box set comes out tomorrow (in the UK anyway) and I can't wait to get it. It's been added to a list of "Jen presents", which my gran might be buying for me. If she does, then I'll get it in 10 days and I'll spend 2 days after that watching it. It's been on sky but I don't have sky, so I've missed out. More reason for me to be excited about it!!

An idea of mine

I dunno if I'll use this or not, but I thought of making this donkey our blog mascot. Have him sitting under the link buttons and maybe having a funny quote or what not, under him.

Only thing is...we need a name for him. So far, Donnie has been suggested. Any suggestions for a name for him are welcome. We'll pick the best one and I'll see if we'll use my idea. Could have funny movie quotes, funny chat quotes (if there are any) or The Donkey's words of wisdom! Except the challenge of naming the donkey!

Review - Stephen King's Rose Red

Stephen King's Rose Red
Starring Nancy Travis, Matt Keeslar, Kimberly J. Brown and Julian Sands
Written by Stephen King
Directed by Craig R. Baxley
Executive produced by Mark Carliner and Stephen King

Stephen King's Red Rose is a tale of a haunted mansion that seems to have a life of its own. The horror master wrote the three-part miniseries specifically for the small screen, and as the story begins psychology professor Dr. Joyce Reardon (Travis) is determined to prove that paranormal phenomena exist.
She has become obsessed with a Seattle mansion called Rose Red, which was built in 1907 by Seattle oil magnate John P. Rimbauer. The mansion has a history of death and disappearances that began before it was even built, not to mention strange paranormal activity that seems to have stopped several years earlier.
Determined to wake up the ghostly activity, Joyce gathers a team of six people with different psychic abilities and arranges a weekend visit to the abandoned mansion courtesy of her boyfriend and present owner, Steve Rimbauer (Keeslar). Key to her plan is an autistic teen-age girl named Annie (Brown) who has powerful abilities, perhaps powerful enough to wake the dead.
As the group quickly learns, the power behind Rose Red was John Rimbauer's wife, Ellen (Julia Campbell). She believed that she wouldn't die as long as she continued to build the mansion. The building continued for decades until the mansion became a maze of bizarre rooms, including a mirror-floored library, an up-side down room and stairs that lead nowhere. While the construction stopped after Ellen's disappearance, the mansion seemingly continued to grow on its own.
Things begin to happen as soon as the team arrives. Strange breezes are only the beginning, as one person in the group descends into madness and the rest are left to face their most horrifying fears. Before long, Annie and the others find themselves in a fight for their lives as it becomes apparent that the house does not want them to leave. Ever.

I watched the mini series last night, 5 hours straight. Word of warning, if you want to watch the whole thing in one go, I suggest, DON"T. Its awfully long, and I found I wanted to fast forward some of it. So if you can watch it in stages, it'll be much better. Anyway, I really enjoyed it. Lately, Mr King's screen work hasn't really been up to scratch with some of his previous works, in my opinion. So I watched it with that in mind. And was I surprised! Yes, the story is somewhat long winded, but I think it needs to be. I think if it was shorter, the impact of the story would have been lessened. The first part was pretty much story building. But once they entered the house, I was gripped. I must admit, some of the special effects were pretty standard, but the rest were totally movie quality. And also, I could tell Mr King had taken some of his storyline from previous works. The rock falling incident in the beginning scenes were straight out of Carrie. But I think it gave a nice touch, and if anyone knows Mr King's works, he does like to bring in characteristics from his other novels/movies. The actors, mainly Nancy Travis and Julian Sands, were top notch. Really above what you'd normally see in a made for TV mini series. So I recommend it highly. Even if it is a few years old, if you haven't seen it yet, and you love Stephen King as I do, Watch It!

Disappointment at it's best

So, I hear about this new movie coming out in cinemas near me soon (if not already) So, as usual, I go looking for a link to watch the trailer for it. I open google, type in the movie name which happens to be The Devils Rejects and BINGO I find a link for it.
I'm all happy by this point, so I sit and the page loads (slowly because of my dial-up). I see a trailer (which is weak in my opinion) and then the main site page loads up. I start looking around, playing with all the buttons because they've got different sounds and shit. This movie is by Rob Zombie and because of House Of 1000 Corpses...I can't wait to find out more.
Imagine how I felt when I try to look through the site and find that I CAN'T. This movie has an R rating, so you have to be over 18 to view anything on the site. It asks me to fill out some details...name, date of birth, zip code.....I don't have a zip code with living in Scotland. We deal with postcodes here but I type it in anyway (you never know. I might have been lucky) Then it asks me for either a Passport or ID number. I AINT PUTTING THAT SHIT ON THE NET. So I think to myself that maybe it'll just let me carry. To my horror...it doesnt. So I'm hella disappointed that I can't view the site to a movie that I really want to know about.

So, my question is...to the makers of such sites like The Devils Reject Official Movie .....What about us British people who dont have zip codes...and what about us fans who don't want to put personal information on the fucking net?? WHAT CAN WE GAIN FROM IT?! and why must you just base everything around Americans? I understand the R rating that the movie has but COME ON.....there must be another way around it....and that concludes my rant about the discrimination over some movie sites!!
