Celebrity Big Brother UK

This past week has seen Celebrity Big Brother UK hit news headlines across the world. It's been talked about by politicians and the public because of the seemingly racist remarks made towards a housemate, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty.

It all started when some celebrities, Jade Goody (famous for appearing in Big Brother 3), Danielle Lloyd (a former Miss Great Britain), Jo O'Meara (former singer from the pop group S Club 7) and Jade's 'none celebrity in my eyes' boyfriend Jack Tweedy, started talking about Shilpa and making a joke out of her. Jade's mother (Jackiey) first brought it to a head by failing to pronounce Shilpa's name correctly and started called her "The Indian" and "Princess". Since then, things have gone downhill and Goody and Co have formed a group who seem to spend most of their time talking about Shilpa and mimicking her voice. Other housemates realise there's a problem and have done their best to try and calm things down. Some housemates have even been in tears because of the amount of bullying they see around them.

They have passed comments about how she used her hands to touch food, which prompted Danielle to say "You don't know where those hands have been". When she poured the left-over chicken soup down the toilet, they made a comment that there could have been chicken bones in there and it could cause a blockage. Jack then suggested that Shilpa "pick them out with her teeth" to which she replied "There's a lot more I would rather do with my teeth"
Shilpa has been reduced to tears a lot but she told Big Brother that she didnt feel the bullying was meant in any racist way. The public dont agree and thousands of people have complained about the goings on. Big Brother's sponsor, The Carphone Warehouse, have let it be known that they no longer wish to sponsor the show and will withdraw after the show finishes. Jade's perfume line has been removed from some stores because they feel she is being racist and a contract for Danielle had been removed too.
Tonight, both Jade and Shilpa are up for eviction and one daily newspaper are calling for all their readers to vote to evict Jade. Big Brother have also said that tonights eviction will be without the usual crowd of fans waiting for the evicted housemate to leave.

I've been watching every day and I do feel that what they are doing isnt called for at all. I can understand that not everyone can get along and I'm just wondering if there would be so much of a uproar if they were bullying someone of the same race as them. Will this be the kick people need to recognize what bullying actually is? For years thousands of kids have been subject to bullying. I use to be one of them, as I'm sure some people reading this were too. 100's of kids couldnt take it anymore and ended up taking their lives. Will this stop people burying their heads in the sand, and make them sit up and do something about it? To be honest, I highly doubt it. After a while, it will all be forgotten. Like everything seems to be these days. It's a shame that we cant all exist together as mixed race people. All races are to blame. Sorry for saying that because I know there are a lot of good people out there but we have to see it for the way it is. We have to sit up and pay attention and try and do something about it. Starting a war isnt the answer either (although it seems to be for people in power). I don't know the answer. I wish I did.

You can read the story here and there is also links on that page to read past stories about this whole situation.

24 Season 6 Leaked episodes

It came to my attention a few days ago that 4 of the new episodes of season 6 of 24 were leaked. That's when every 24 fan started going crazy and downloading them. For days Ive been upset that I couldnt download them. So today I went on the hunt for a website that would allow me to watch the episodes without having to download them (I also found a site that would allow me to watch Lost this way)...

After much searching, I came across a site that answered all my prayers!

For the past 4 hours, I've sat and watched the single most fucking amazing thing in this world. Take my word for it..this season of 24 is a must watch for anyone. Episode 4 is the best episode of 24 I have ever watched and I've watched them all! If that episode is anything to go by, then the rest of the season is going to beat everything they've ever made so far. I'm not going to link the site on here. For my own reasons and because I was asked not to but if anyone reading this wants the link to the website, then please send me a message and I will gladly help you out. I believe its 3 more days till 24 airs in the states and the UK wont be all that far behind in showing this season on Sky One. If you're like me and dont have Sky, then this site will help solve that problem. I'm hoping that it will update with new episodes as they hit the states.

I just have to say this again...ITS FUCKING AMAZING!

Reason to watch

Yes, it's back. The reason to watch section and today I'm listing Scott Maslen as a reason to watch a TV show. Scott Maslen appears on the TV screen in the UK, staring in the number one police show The Bill. He plays the part of Detective Sergeant Phil Hunter. A real women charmer and dodgy cop.

It's easy to see why he's the number one reason (in my opinion) the watch The Bill. Sexy as all hell. He rates 8/10 for me!

Extreme?!

I was watching something the other night, while suffering on my mum's sofa, called the Worlds Most Extreme TV Shows...or something like that...and I agree that some of the shows were extreme. Shows like Who's the Daddy? in the US. A woman, who is searching for her father, has to try and pick out which guy she thinks is her father. Some of the guys are actors and her actual father is there too, or a shows called Cheaters, where people are told about their cheating partners and then they face these partners and the person they are cheating with. The host was stabbed when he took a GF to face her cheating BF. Doesnt sound extreme huh? But those are only 2 of the shows mentioned. Some were really over the top. I'm getting to my rant, I promise!
There were shows from all over the world and they just happened to mention a show that was on TV here in the UK. It started off as Anatomy for Beginners and when it returned, it was Autopsy: Life and Death and it was about it's title. An Autopsy of a human body that was donated for medical research. The first show included subjects on movement, circulation, digestion and reproduction and the second show concentrated on subjects such as circulation, cancer, poisoning and ageing.

They cut open different human bodies and showed you all the different organs. Telling you about how any virus/infection could effect you, how you can die from them and how different muscles work in your body. They sliced a brain into bits and showed you the different parts of it. In my opinion, it was bloody brilliant! My rant? It's about how people complained about it! WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU COMPLAINING ABOUT IT?! It was educational!!! And to class it as extreme? shut the fuck up! If you don't like things like that, then switch channels. Don't bloody watch it. Don't sit there and say "OH. I don't like this but I think I'll watch it and then go complain about it"

For me, it was educational. It helped me explain to my gran what had happened to her when she had her mini stroke. I was able to explain to her about the blockage they said she had in her brain. If the show hadnt been on and I didnt take time out to watch it, I wouldnt have understood much about her mini stroke. There's only so much you can learn in school or from books. To actually watch them cut someone open and show you what you look like from the inside, was fascinating. No body was cut open without having the permission from the donor and their family. The donors face was covered. Dispite what people think, my opinion is that it was tastefully done, it was educational and extremely interesting. So to all the people who thought to complain about it..SHUT THE FUCK UP AND IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, CHANGE CHANNELS! Some people in this world want to learn about the human body in a way that doesnt involve books. That's my rant of the day over with lol

Scottish TV

Most people who might read this wont actually be scottish but the reason for this post is to urge everyone to take up reading and to hopefully expand their reading material to another author.

The author I'm talking about is Ian Rankin.

Bestselling crime-writer Ian Rankin was born in Fife, Scotland, in 1960. He was educated at Edinburgh University. On graduating he worked for the civil service, later working as a researcher and journalist. His first published book was The Flood (1986). Knots and Crosses (1987) was the first in a series of novels featuring Inspector John Rebus and set in contemporary Scotland. Ian Rankin is married with two sons, and lives in Edinburgh, Scotland. He was awarded an OBE in 2002.
The new Rebus starts very soon on Scottish TV and I cant wait! Anyone who hasnt read an Ian Rankin novel, get to your nearest bookstore/library and start reading them. You wont regret it!

Real Life Documentaries

I know I'm getting old when I start liking documentary programs on TV but I have to say..some open my eyes to things I knew about but didn't really care about, and others have taught me new things (as most do, I suppose). With only having 5 channels to watch, my options are limited but Channel 4 has been keeping me going. Not only because of Big Brother and Gordon Ramsay's F Word but because of the docu's on every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Talking Point - Wednesday Nights 11:05pm
Tonight the docu is called I Love You. And You. And You. It's about Polyamory.

Polyamory refers to the practice of having a consensual, loving relationship that involves more than two people.
Only Human - Thursday Nights 9pm
This weeks docu is called Can't Stop Eating. It's about people who suffer from the rare genetic disorder called PWS.
Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS). PWS is a rare genetic disorder which affects 2,000 people in the UK today. One of its key symptoms is that sufferers never feel full and cannot control their eating.
Cutting Edge - Monday Nights 9pm
Next weeks docu is called Wedding Days.
This heartfelt film reveals the very human stories of 20 couples, brought together in one moment of time, over a quarter of a century ago.
Last Monday's Cuttin Edge was about The Dead Body Squad.
Once a dead body has been found and removed by coroners, Matt and his team are called in to clean up what is left behind. An undiscovered body quickly begins to decompose and a suicide can leave a very gruesome aftermath, known in the trade as a 'body job'.
Last weeks Talking Point was about The Guy with 80 Wives.
Warren Jeffs, the leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints (FLDS), is on the FBI’s 10 most wanted list.
I love watching these documentaries. Anyone in the UK should take time out before/after Big Brother to watch these. You'll enjoy them and they'll really shock you!

Reasons to watch...

Ok. I'm sitting here really bored, annoyed about something and I dont know what I'm annoyed about, and getting even more pissed off at my internet connection, and it's only 11:40pm!

So, I've decided to start a weekly post by myself, all about hunky men in TV programs/Movies and how they are the main reasons to watch said shows/movies. I'm starting off with Eddie Cibrian who plays Russell Varon in Invasion. This show just started last weekend in the UK and can I just say...Eddie Naked...OMG!!! He's hella sexy! He's one main reason to tune into Invasion every week. I hope there are more scenes where he's stripped off to his boxers!

24 Season 4

Season four opens with Jack Bower working for the Secretary of Defence James Heller. This particular morning Jack finds himself back at CTU (the Counter Terrorist Unit) meeting with Erin Driscoll, the new Director of Operations. An explosion on a city train has CTU working on finding the terrorist cell operating in the city. Rumour has it that it is the work of Turkish terrorists. When the Secretary of Defence is kidnapped with his daughter, Jack becomes a CTU agent once more. His investigations lead him to Navi Araz who runs the terrorist cell which plans to launch a nuclear attack on the city. Bower is back...

This dvd box set comes out tomorrow (in the UK anyway) and I can't wait to get it. It's been added to a list of "Jen presents", which my gran might be buying for me. If she does, then I'll get it in 10 days and I'll spend 2 days after that watching it. It's been on sky but I don't have sky, so I've missed out. More reason for me to be excited about it!!

Hulk Knows Best

Fearsome, funny 80's wrestling star Hulk Hogan, known as Terry to his family, is trying to do a repeat of the Osbournes - a cleaned up version. Hulk, his wife Linda, daughter Brooke and son Nick are ready to put their home life on reality TV on Hulk Knows Best. But Brooke, 16, who announced she was ready for superstardom, said Linda's insistence that she was the bad child of the family, pouted " Why me? I'm a virgin, I don't do drugs. I'm perfect. I'm nice to people. I always do my homework." Not so much Osbourne as the Brady Bunch?

This was in our Saturday paper's TV guide...sounds rather interesting, but why would he do this? To me, it sounds like someone's star is fading? And from what I've heard from people in chat that have seen the show, Hulk is a mean sonofabitch, his daughter is a slut, his wife should cut down on the eyeliner, and his son gets bitched out for having condoms in his bedroom. Hmm, typical American life? Sounds like it to me!
